Quby, the Amsterdam company behind the Toon® smart thermostat, rapidly outgrew its datacenter (designed for 10,000 customers) as its customer base expanded to 300,000. Migrating to AWS with Docker and Mesos Marathon to enable a DevOps model exposed gaps in monitoring, security, and forensic capabilities across their Java-based stack, creating an urgent need for cloud-native visibility and automatic discovery.

By adopting Sysdig Monitor and Sysdig Secure with a single point of instrumentation, Quby gained container-, host- and application-level visibility (including Spring Boot, Tomcat, GlassFish and Liferay), plus runtime security and forensics. The change sped up troubleshooting, cut monitoring administration from 2 FTE to 0.5 FTE, reduced monthly update effort to about 15–30 minutes, and provided transparency that supports client confidence and sales.
