Lush Cosmetics wanted to understand how social influencers were shaping conversations about its bath and shower products and—critically—whether that activity was driving purchase behavior. The challenge was choosing the right KPIs to measure influencer ROI and to quantify whether the heavy blogger-driven social buzz actually translated into increased usage or intent to buy.
Using Synthesio’s social listening and SynthesioRank to identify high-reach beauty and lifestyle influencers, the team tracked Instagram posts and mentions expressing intent to purchase. The analysis showed influencer-driven Instagram volume rose 848% in the second half of the year and purchase intent increased 47%, demonstrating a clear correlation between influencer activity, greater visibility, and higher intent to buy.
