How Malaria Must Die used AI technology to make David Beckham speak over 9 languages

Malaria No More, a global NGO focused on eradicating malaria, needed a fresh, attention-grabbing way to influence public discourse and decision makers in the developed world. Synthesia’s AI video synthesis platform was used to help the charity create a bold campaign that could amplify its message beyond traditional advocacy.

Synthesia enabled a world-first video campaign where David Beckham’s face and voice were used to speak on behalf of malaria survivors, with the film translated into nine languages. The campaign generated more than 700 million global digital impressions and over 420,000 online search results, helped drive the disease to its highest awareness in nearly three years, and later won a CogX award for Outstanding Achievement in Social Good Use of AI.
