Bioprocess Informatics to Accelerate Lentiviral Vector Process Development

Oxford Biomedica, a world leader in lentiviral vector R&D and manufacturing, was challenged by rapidly growing volumes of disparate online, atline and offline data that were slow and error-prone to process with spreadsheets and vendor tools. In 2017 they engaged Synthace to deploy the Antha bioprocess informatics platform to provide a scalable, hardware‑agnostic solution for automating data aggregation, structuring and visualization.

Synthace configured Antha to automatically upload, collate, align and visualize data from multiple devices (e.g., ambr®250 HT, BioProfile® Flex2, QuantStudio7™, SpectraMax® M2E), resulting in an 83% reduction in upload time, a 92% reduction in structuring time, and a decrease in raw-to-structured time from 2.5 to 0.25 hours (90% saving); overall resource demand from raw data to insight fell ~94% (from 10.75 to 0.6 hours). The Antha workflows delivered >80% faster visualization and plot generation, improved data integrity, and enabled collaborative, scalable interrogation of full datasets to accelerate Oxford Biomedica’s lentiviral process development.
