A Syntax Case Study
The City of Brantford, Ontario, a medium-sized municipality in Canada, faced an urgent need to modernize its JD Edwards EnterpriseOne environment as Xe support was ending and its hardware had reached physical limits. The city also needed expanded functionality, more business process automation, and a better document management strategy, so it turned to Syntax for help with its JD Edwards upgrade and support needs.
Syntax replaced the city’s IBM iSeries setup with an Intel/Oracle-based virtualized environment, upgraded JD Edwards from Xe to 9.0, and implemented tools including BI Publisher, Item Masters, and a pilot 3 Way Match process. As a result, the City of Brantford reduced risk and downtime, improved user productivity, lowered IT complexity and spend, and gained a stable, supported ERP foundation that positions it for future upgrades and business continuity.
