A Syntasa Case Study

Preview of the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities Case Study

Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is gaining comprehensive insights into their data using Syntasa and Google Cloud

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) sought to address the state’s worsening opioid epidemic by obtaining a more timely and granular view of its data. A lack of city-level insights made it difficult to effectively target public health initiatives, and citizens lacked an easy way to find local treatment providers. To overcome these challenges, DBHDD partnered with vendor Syntasa to deploy its Substance Abuse and Opioid Response Solution on Google Cloud.

Syntasa implemented a two-part solution. First, they built a series of analytics dashboards, powered by Looker on Google Cloud, that unified data from multiple sources to provide DBHDD with actionable, real-time insights and hot-spot analysis. Second, Syntasa developed a publicly accessible, searchable online provider locator tool to help individuals easily find nearby treatment centers. As a result, DBHDD can now pinpoint areas of greatest need to improve intervention timing and ensure more constituents get the help they require.
