Neuchips Creates AI Accelerator Chip in 18 Months

Neuchips needed to build a large AI accelerator chip quickly and efficiently, but chip complexity and integration risk made the project difficult. Using Synopsys IP and design/verification tools, Neuchips aimed to speed development and improve first-pass success for its data center recommendation-model AI chip.

Synopsys helped Neuchips accelerate simulation, verification, and integration with silicon-proven IP and robust design tools. As a result, Neuchips taped out a 400mm² AI chip in just 18 months instead of the 3 to 4 years often required, while achieving one million DLRM inferences per Joule and reducing development risk and time.

Neuchips
