Maxtek Components Corporation - Customer Case Study

Maxtek, a supplier of high-speed data converters for real-time embedded systems, needed a hardware prototype to validate a new 12.5 GS/s digital receiver that would process 200 Gbps. The project demanded high-speed DDR bit capture with bit-alignment and bitslip, four continuous channels at 6.25 GS/s, two 128-bit DDR interfaces at 781 Mbps per line, USB control, and support for 100 Gbps transfer rates.

Synopsys Professional Services collaborated with Maxtek to design and implement a custom interface to the HAPS ASIC Prototyping Platform, providing RTL development, VCS-based verification, synthesis, and FPGA mapping. The FPGA-based HAPS solution achieved the required real-time data transfer rates, enabling Maxtek to validate the ADC module and meet its aggressive performance objectives.
