KYOCERA Document Solutions, a maker of energy-efficient printers, multifunction products and document management systems, needed to develop differentiated SoCs that met strict power, cost and time-to-market targets. The company faced the challenge of integrating a new processor architecture while minimizing design risk and keeping development costs and schedules tight.

KYOCERA adopted Synopsys DesignWare IP (Ethernet MAC, USB 2.0, PCIe, AMBA timers/AXI fabric) to get silicon-proven, easy-to-integrate building blocks and responsive local support. The solution reduced integration risk and power/area, accelerated time-to-market by up to a year, and enabled delivery of energy-efficient, cost-effective multifunction printer chipsets ahead of competitors.
