How Credo Semiconductor is Using AI to Accelerate Analog Design Migrations

Credo Semiconductor needed to migrate an analog VCO design between process nodes efficiently, a task that traditionally required extensive manual effort and fine-tuning. Using Synopsys ASO.ai, part of the Synopsys.ai EDA suite, they aimed to speed up the 5nm-to-7nm design migration while maintaining accuracy.

Synopsys implemented ASO.ai to automate the analog migration workflow and optimize device parameter values against target metrics. As a result, Credo cut migration time from multiple weeks to just a few hours, including setup, achieving up to 100X productivity improvement; the optimizer also completed over 10,000 searches in about 2 hours, versus several days or weeks manually.
