Global Unichip Corporation (GUC), a leading custom ASIC design services provider, partnered with Light to build the SoC for Light’s pocketable L16 computational-imaging camera. The project faced an aggressive schedule and tight power, performance and area constraints for a battery‑operated, multi‑sensor ultra‑high‑definition imaging system.

GUC integrated Synopsys’ DesignWare MIPI CSI‑2 Host/Device, D‑PHY, DDR multiPHY and uMCTL2 IP—backed by responsive Synopsys support—to reduce integration risk and speed development. The result was silicon success weeks ahead of schedule, meeting the camera’s power/performance/area targets and accelerating Light’s time‑to‑market for the L16.
