eWBM Passes FIDO U2F Authentication Certification for MS1000 Microcontroller with DesignWare Security IP

eWBM is a fast-growing Korean fabless semiconductor company that developed the MS1000, a high-performance, low-power 32-bit microcontroller for IoT devices. To stand out in a market of largely software‑protected devices, eWBM needed strongest-possible on‑chip security (including a hardware Root of Trust and crypto acceleration), had a small in‑house team and aggressive time-to-market targets, and had to achieve FIDO U2F authentication certification.

Synopsys supplied proven DesignWare Security IP—tRoot Secure Hardware Root of Trust, TRNG and Security Protocol Accelerator—along with responsive technical support. The IP integrated quickly (about a week), was bug‑free and silicon‑proven, enabling first‑pass silicon success, rapid FIDO U2F certification, reduced design risk, and delivery of robust secure‑boot, integrity monitoring and accelerated cryptography without a separate security co‑processor.
