Enhancing Code Quality and Security with Synopsys AST Solutions

FPT Software, a division of Vietnam-based FPT Corporation with nearly $2 billion in revenue, provides end-to-end software design, development, migration and modernization services. Facing quality and security risks from legacy code and increasing use of open-source components, the company sought tools to detect defects earlier in the development lifecycle to reduce remediation costs and win client trust.

FPT’s Delivery Command Center selected Synopsys Coverity SAST and Black Duck SCA (adopted in 2015 and 2019 respectively) and integrated them into Jenkins pipelines across roughly 200 projects per year. The tools improved developer productivity, reduced false positives/negatives to under 10%, helped achieve OWASP Top 10 compliance, and delivered richer reporting and faster remediation—resulting in higher code quality, stronger security, and lower risk and cost.
