Complete DesignWare IP Solutions Enable ViXS to Achieve First Pass Silicon Success for Advanced Video Processing SoC

ViXS, a fabless semiconductor company making advanced video transcoding and processing SoCs, needed to integrate multiple high-speed interfaces (DDR2, SATA II, USB 2.0, PCI Express and dual Ethernet) into a single chip while meeting aggressive time-to-market targets and achieving first-pass silicon success to deliver customer samples on time.

ViXS adopted Synopsys DesignWare IP — complete, interoperable digital controllers, PHYs and verification IP — which sped development, saved about six months, and delivered proven, high-quality IP. The robust PHYs and on-chip diagnostics helped ViXS pass compliance testing and show working samples within two weeks of silicon return, enabling first-pass success, faster customer shipments, and broad market adoption of the XCode 3000 series.
