Bosch Achieves First-Pass Silicon Success for Consumer Sensor Application with Synopsys DesignWare NVM IP

Bosch Sensortec, a leader in MEMS sensors for mobile and wearable devices, needed a compact, low-power, and highly reliable non-volatile memory (NVM) solution to store calibration data for high-volume consumer sensor ICs. Key challenges included minimizing NVM footprint to hit an aggressive die-size target, reducing power for portable applications, avoiding memory-related field failures, and accelerating time-to-market with an easy-to-integrate, mature IP.

Bosch selected Synopsys DesignWare AEON Reprogrammable Trim NVM IP, which delivered first-pass silicon success and shortened time-to-market by more than one month. The IP enabled the target 1.2 x 1.5 mm² accelerometer footprint, reduced supply voltage and current for lower power, eliminated memory reliability issues in mass production, and saved integration effort (over one man-month), supported by responsive Synopsys technical assistance.
