Arbe Achieves First-Pass Silicon Success for High-Resolution Imaging Radar SoC using DesignWare Foundation, ARC Processor, Security & Interface IP

Arbe, a semiconductor startup that reinvented radar as a vehicle’s primary sensor with its 4D ultra–high‑resolution imaging radar for ADAS and autonomous vehicles, needed to develop a cost‑effective, safety‑ and security‑compliant SoC on GLOBALFOUNDRIES 22FDX. Key challenges included delivering innovative imaging features for current and future autonomy levels, meeting AEC‑Q100 and ISO 26262 requirements, achieving stringent ESD targets, and integrating efficient boot and network security.

Arbe selected Synopsys’ DesignWare portfolio — ASIL‑ready ARC processors (EM22FS, EV62) and MetaWare toolkit, Ethernet QoS with TSN, security accelerators (TRNG, SPA, PKA), IO/LVDS libraries and foundation IP — with Synopsys providing an increased 500V CDM ESD sign‑off and responsive engineering support. The result was first‑pass silicon success for the Phoenix radar SoC, faster time‑to‑market that beat competitors, compliance support for ISO 26262 qualification, met performance/ESD targets, and straightforward integration of security IP.
