Analog Devices Achieves Silicon Success for Multiple ICs Using DesignWare Non-Volatile Memory IP

Analog Devices (ADI), a leader in data-conversion and signal-conditioning technologies, needed a silicon‑proven non‑volatile memory (NVM) IP for new digipot analog ICs. The primary challenge was to find an NVM solution that met strict functional and reliability requirements, reduced integration risk through rigorous qualification, and supported an aggressive time‑to‑market schedule.

ADI implemented Synopsys’ DesignWare AEON MTP NVM IP, which is standard‑CMOS compatible and delivers high endurance, low power, small area and wide temperature tolerance—allowing programming/reprogramming without extra masks or process steps. The outcome was successful tape‑outs of three digipot ICs, improved calibration precision and system performance, on‑schedule delivery, and reduced overall development costs.
