Air France injects agility into software testing with Synopsys Software Test Optimization

Air France, one of the world’s largest carriers, needed to modernize its AirFrance.com and AirFrance.fr booking portals as part of its Transform 2015 program and move development to Agile. Because the B2C sites generate the bulk of revenue, any downtime or defects are costly; yet regression testing for a three-month cycle could take three weeks, creating a bottleneck for faster releases and risking customer impact.

Air France deployed Synopsys Software Test Optimization (Test Advisor) to analyze code changes, score and prioritize tests, and integrate with a nightly CI pipeline. The tool helped focus QA on high-risk areas, eliminate redundant tests, uncover coverage gaps, and accelerate delivery—enabling more targeted regression testing, earlier defect detection, and smoother, more reliable releases.
