Achronix Achieves First-Pass Silicon Success for High-Performance Computing FPGAs with DesignWare Foundation and Interface IP

Achronix, a fabless semiconductor company known for high-performance Speedster7t FPGAs and licensed eFPGA IP for AI/ML, networking and data center applications, needed to deliver cutting‑edge 7nm devices while managing design risk, power/performance/area (PPA) targets and aggressive time‑to‑market pressures — all while bringing up a new team, a new process node and integrating leading‑edge interfaces.

Achronix adopted Synopsys DesignWare Foundation and Interface IP — including logic libraries, memory compilers, temperature sensors, PCIe 5.0 and DDR4 controller/PHY — enabling first‑pass silicon success. The prequalified IP and responsive Synopsys support cut development time by two to three months, improved PPA (notably an ~8% timing gain versus a competitor), delivered low‑latency, high‑bandwidth interfaces, and avoided the higher cost and risk of in‑house IP development.
