Yan-Ding Accounting Firm, a Taipei County firm founded in 1992 that provides company registration, bookkeeping, tax and financial planning services, struggled with storing growing client data (often gigabytes per month) and with frequent computer lag caused by retrieving large email attachments from an external mail server. To address these issues they evaluated solutions from Synology Inc., including the DiskStation DS209+II and the Mail Station package.

Yan-Ding deployed a Synology Inc. DS209+II as a secure NAS for client data and installed Mail Station to run an internal mail server. The change greatly reduced email retrieval time, eliminated the lagging/freezing problems, and delivered stable, high-performance mail service even during peak seasons; it also proved a cost-effective alternative to traditional mail systems (40,000–50,000 NTD), making the DS209+II an indispensable, “A-level” email server for the firm.
