Troinet, an IT consulting firm, was hired by a K–8 charter school in Hempstead, NY that needed a budget-conscious, scalable networked video recording solution to centrally manage roughly 150 IP cameras across a 90,000 sq ft campus, enable mobile viewing, and retain video long-term for compliance. After evaluating multiple NVR vendors, Troinet selected Synology Inc.’s surveillance solution (including RackStation models RS2414RP+ and RS3614xs+) to meet these requirements.

Troinet deployed two RS2414RP+ units (each populated with ten 3TB WD Enterprise drives) and one RS3614xs+ (also with ten 3TB drives), configured with link aggregation and centralized management, providing remote viewing via Synology mobile apps, compatibility with 70+ IP camera brands, and scalable storage. Synology Inc.’s solution delivered over three months of video retention for the campus, met performance and reliability needs, and beat competing NVRs on total cost, improving long‑term ROI.
