The Holy Trinity School - Customer Case Study

The Holy Trinity School, a secondary school in Crawley with around 1,300 pupils, 150 staff, and roughly 400 workstations, was experiencing slow logins, limited data availability during server maintenance, and rising infrastructure and electricity costs. To address these challenges they turned to Synology Inc. and selected the RS3412RPxs NAS for its virtualization support, ultra‑high performance and intuitive web interface.

Synology Inc. deployed an RS3412RPxs populated with ten 2TB drives in RAID 10 (providing 10TB usable) and presented storage over iSCSI to Hyper‑V and VMware clusters, enabling live migration, fewer physical servers, and faster client logons. The Synology Inc. solution delivered responsiveness comparable to an entry‑level SAN at much lower cost, simplified management via its web UI and AD integration, and significantly improved infrastructure flexibility and performance.
