The Executive Centre (TEC), a global operator of more than 130 serviced centres across 32 cities, struggled with slow and inconsistent backups—restores with previous solutions could take 4–5 days and each local centre used different backup methods, making centralized management difficult. TEC evaluated options and selected Synology Inc.’s Synology Active Backup for Business to address these challenges.

Synology Inc. deployed Active Backup for Business on RS818+ and DS918+ NAS units to provide license‑free, centralized, agentless VM backups with Changed Block Tracking. TEC has already protected 47 VMs (6.73 TB) and plans to expand to 126 VMs (28.75 TB); the solution delivered up to 24× deduplication, improved restore performance, faster APAC rollouts, standardized local deployments, and eliminated ongoing license costs.
