The Country School, a K–8 independent school in Easton, MD serving roughly 150 users, was migrating from PCs to Macs and needed to reduce server count while finding a reliable, Mac-compatible backup solution. After trying DAS and another NAS that couldn't act as a Time Machine target, the school's system administrator chose Synology Inc.'s DS1010+ DiskStation to meet their requirements.

Synology Inc. delivered a 5‑bay DS1010+ preconfigured with five 1TB drives in RAID 5 (≈4TB usable) and its DiskStation Manager, enabling a simple Time Machine destination setup; the admin had staff migrated and backups running within 24 hours.
