A Synology Inc. Case Study
The Bayleaf Hotels, owned and operated by Lyceum of the Philippines University, faced repeated NVR instability and high storage costs for CCTV when opening a new property in Cavite. With limited budget and a need for H.265 compression (about 50% storage savings over H.264), their existing non-Synology NVRs suffered crashes and a hardware failure, prompting them to seek a more reliable, storage-focused solution from Synology Inc.
Synology Inc. products were repurposed as NVRs using DiskStation Manager and Surveillance Station (with camera license packs and ONVIF support) and managed centrally via Synology’s CMS and HA cluster. The deployment covered nine recording servers and 178 IP cameras, delivering stability, easier administration, flexible license mobility, and the H.265 storage savings they sought; backed by Synology Inc.’s regular DSM updates and five‑year warranty, The Bayleaf Hotels plan to migrate all sites to Synology.
