Storage Review, a leading independent authority on storage hardware and software, needed to replace an aging, clunky NVR that made playback difficult and kept them from maintaining a useful video wall or performing quick remote checks. They chose Synology Inc.’s Surveillance Station running on an RS10613xs+ and a VS240HD, using DS cam and privilege controls to meet requirements for reliability, ease of use, and remote incident review.

Synology Inc. implemented Surveillance Station, added the existing cameras, enabled continuous monitoring on the VS240HD and mobile review via DS cam, and set up privilege controls for tenant access. The result was a “painful to delightful” transition: staff can verify alarms from their phones (once notifying the site owner before arrival), distinguish deliveries from security incidents via a full-time video monitor, and avoid unnecessary responses — all while simplifying support and access management.
