Station Front Metro Mall, a busy retail complex in Taipei formerly relying on low-resolution analog DVRs, faced poor identification in playback, time-consuming manual footage searches, cumbersome hardware maintenance, and limited scalability. To address these issues they adopted Synology Inc.'s smart surveillance solution, including Surveillance Station and Deep Learning NVR (DVA3219).

Synology Inc. replaced the old DVR setup with a centralized system of 4 recording servers, 122 IP cameras, 4 VisualStation decoders and a TV wall, plus DVA3219 people-counting at main entrances. The new deployment stabilized recordings, drastically reduced time spent pulling footage via intelligent search, enabled centralized monitoring and faster maintenance, and delivered actionable people-flow reports used to optimize guard patrols and billboards—turning security data into measurable operational and revenue benefits.
