Press Enterprise, a daily newspaper and commercial printer with 200+ employees producing millions of printed materials weekly, faced outdated servers and needed reliable file sharing and mail services to support mixed Windows and Mac workflows. Because large multimedia files made public cloud and SaaS impractical and costly, Press Enterprise turned to Synology Inc., using RackStation hardware and MailPlus to meet their storage, email, and backup needs.

Synology Inc. deployed two RS3617RPxs (one for file storage, one running MailPlus), later adding an RS815RP+ with an RX415 expansion and syncing backups to AWS. The solution delivered load-balanced access, 15-minute snapshot recovery, daily on‑site and off‑site backups, detailed reporting, and universal indexing; it prevented potential data loss, made off-site backup consistent, dramatically reduced spam, and enabled instant search across terabytes of data.
