A Synology Inc. Case Study
NO.7 Sound Studio, a Taipei-based dubbing and music studio, faced inefficient and unreliable file delivery—burning CDs and couriering them (about 100 NTD per round) or using email led to delays, waste, and client frustration; a home-built PC/FTP server also caused noise and overheating. To solve this, the studio adopted Synology Inc.'s DiskStation NAS (starting with the DS106 and later upgrading to DS107+ and DS210+) for cross-platform file access.
Synology Inc.'s DiskStation provided a user-friendly FTP server, seamless Windows/Mac file sharing, and automated backup between devices, eliminating constant CD burning and courier fees, reducing downtime from server crashes, and speeding client access to recordings and voice samples. The result was measurable cost savings on delivery (~100 NTD per delivery), improved stability and efficiency, stronger client satisfaction, and a greener workflow.
