LSU Libraries needed to streamline and secure its digital infrastructure, which managed its website, digital archives, and departmental files. To address this challenge, they sought a new, cost-effective solution from Synology to ensure their data was organized, accessible, and protected.

Synology implemented a solution using an SA6400 as a VM server and an RS3618xs as a dedicated backup server, utilizing Virtual Machine Manager and Snapshot Replication. This allowed LSU Libraries to eliminate VMware licensing fees, reduce IT overhead with intuitive management, and establish a resilient 3-2-1 backup strategy with Hyper Backup. The results included significant cost savings, simplified management, and a future-proofed, secure digital environment for their critical data.
