Douglas County Sheriff’s Office - Customer Case Study

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office needed a cost-effective, redundant video management and digital evidence storage solution to support a multi‑agency task force investigating a large burglary ring. Detective Brian Rademacher required RAID and redundant power, easy case sharing across about 20 cooperating agencies, and a way to avoid mailing tens of thousands of documents—so he selected the RS3614RPxs from Synology Inc.

Synology Inc. delivered a fully loaded RS3614RPxs with 30 TB in RAID 6, redundant power, Synology VMS, File Station and Cloud Station for real‑time multi‑agency access, and a RackStation‑hosted web page for victims to search and claim recovered property. The system sped investigations, enabled convictions under the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act, helped recover thousands of stolen items, replaced email‑based file sharing, and has been duplicated for other complex and multi‑jurisdictional case management efforts.
