Ciné Digital Service - Customer Case Study

Ciné Digital Service, a France‑based group of five system integrators that supplies and manages digital cinema projection, faced the need to centralize vast film libraries and deliver large media files to multiple projection servers that each only hold ~4 TB. To meet varying venue sizes and heavy concurrent delivery demands (large cinemas can run up to 19 films at once, with individual files up to ~300 GB), they evaluated and selected Synology Inc.'s NAS solutions, including DiskStation and RackStation models such as the RS3412RPxs.

Synology Inc. implemented scalable RackStation/DiskStation systems (RS3412RPxs with RX1211 expansion options) fitted with 10Gb Ethernet cards and link bonding to ensure high‑speed, concurrent transmission to many servers, and provided a web‑based, easy‑to‑use management interface that integrates with Ciné Digital Service’s scheduling software. The deployment delivered measurable outcomes: reliable delivery of 300 GB+ film files to more than 10 projection servers simultaneously, flexible right‑sized storage options for small and large cinemas, and simplified operations that maximize investment efficiency.
