Chausson Materiaux - Customer Case Study

Chausson Materiaux, a family-run construction materials company with 350 stores and 3,600 employees, was losing inventory to theft and relying on expensive, slow remote alarm responses. They engaged Synology Inc. to provide a centralized, scalable surveillance solution (Surveillance Station and CMS) to monitor more than 2,000 IP cameras from their headquarters in Toulouse.

Synology Inc. implemented a CMS with an RS18017xs+ at HQ and DiskStation recording servers (DS216j, DS216play, DS218play, DS218j) in each store, recording 24/7 with motion detection and low-res streams to save bandwidth. More than 100 DiskStations are already deployed—securing 100+ stores—with rollout to all 350 planned by end of 2018; the system delivers centralized e-maps and real-time alerts, faster interventions via IP telephony and police notification, easier management of 2,000 cameras, and reduced theft and operational costs.
