Artemis Eye Clinics - Customer Case Study

Artemis Eye Clinics, a nationwide network of 16 surgical centers and more than 30 locations performing over 70,000 eye surgeries annually, needed a fast, high‑availability storage solution compatible with Windows Hyper‑V clusters to secure heterogeneous hospital networks and isolate servers across separate fire compartments via iSCSI. They engaged Synology Inc., deploying Synology High Availability (SHA) and Synology NAS models (FS2017, RS815RP+, RS217) to handle backup, file, cloud and virtual server requirements.

Synology Inc. implemented paired FS2017 units with SSDs, RAID F1 iSCSI LUNs over 10GbE (20GbE bonded links for SHA) and VLANed access so virtual machines run on Synology storage and automatically fail over between Hyper‑V servers. The solution produced continuous, redundant operations with no problems identified since deployment, high data throughput at an economical price versus higher‑cost rivals, encrypted SMB archives for medical records, and measurable benefits including uninterrupted clinical operations, reduced failure risk and significant cost savings.
