Puget Sound Energy (PSE), a utility serving the Puget Sound region, faced an aging legacy customer information system that could not meet modern customer expectations, real‑time self‑service needs, or strict billing requirements. To replace the 20‑year‑old CIS and integrate with its SAP landscape, PSE engaged Syniti to support the CIS upgrade and data migration, aiming to minimize customization, bring customer records in‑house, and enable scalable, customer‑facing capabilities.
Syniti led the data cleansing and migration into the new SAP for Utilities environment, helping PSE match meters to accounts, remove obsolete records, and streamline interfaces so users and customers could access accurate usage and billing data. As a result, PSE automated billing for large commercial accounts, shortened its monthly financial close from 7–10 days to about four days, improved reporting access for business users, and positioned the utility to roll out enhanced self‑service and mobile features—outcomes attributed to Syniti’s implementation support.
