EFCO Corporation, a manufacturing company headquartered in Monett, Missouri, faced performance problems from database silos on its IBM i production systems that slowed manufacturing and reporting. To enable real-time access for reporting, BI and ERP without taxing production systems, EFCO adopted Syniti and deployed the DBMoto data replication solution to move data from IBM i DB2 to Microsoft SQL Server.

Syniti implemented continuous, real-time change data capture with DBMoto—running about 200 active mirroring operations (many at 3-second intervals) and processing several hundred thousand mirrored transactions daily—so reporting and analytics run against SQL Server instead of the production systems. As a result, EFCO cut processing times from hours to minutes, improved user satisfaction, enabled real-time BI and freed developers from manual data-transfer tasks, while keeping minimal impact on the IBM i.
