Graybar, a Fortune 500 electrical supply and wholesale distributor, undertook a major mySAP ERP and SAP NetWeaver rollout to replace legacy systems and improve forecasting, planning and master data management. A critical challenge was price cost management: Graybar receives almost 20,000 supplier changes per day (prices, catalog numbers, descriptions) and needed a way to stage, validate and audit those mass updates before they hit the master data. Working with SAP Consulting, IBM, Deloitte and vendor Syniti, Graybar sought a web-enabled, NetWeaver‑native solution that would ensure data quality, enable “what‑if” scenarios and span the company’s advanced ERP infrastructure and many small suppliers’ limited systems.

Syniti delivered a rules‑based, Powered by SAP NetWeaver solution that let Graybar rapidly develop the Price Cost Management II web application within two months without specialized in‑house web development skills. Integrated into the SAP enterprise portal, Syniti’s solution enforces data governance, stages and validates supplier change requests, automates approval routing and speeds development and testing from weeks/months to days. The result: cost‑effective, auditable supplier change processing, cleaner master data feeding the new ERP, employee self‑service efficiencies, lower IT costs and a scalable platform expected to support tens of thousands of suppliers (targeting ~80,000).
