Animal, a UK action-sports lifestyle brand processing tens of millions of records daily, faced an urgent need to replace an unreliable replication system that was nearing end-of-maintenance. To protect its lucrative e‑commerce and reporting channels, Animal evaluated alternatives and selected Syniti’s DBMoto replication solution (implemented with partner DSCallards) for a straightforward, well-supported way to replicate data from its IBM iSeries to SQL/MySQL environments.

Syniti and DSCallards deployed DBMoto quickly—trial installs ran within an hour and full rollout completed in about a month—delivering resilient, synchronous replication across two fail-over systems. The solution met Animal’s criteria for ease of use, simple setup and reliability, enabled an additional EDI/web-portal environment for order processing, and provided the technical support and commercial resilience the business required.
