Broan‑NuTone Canada, a Mississauga-based manufacturer of central vacuum systems and other home products, faced growing pains as paper-based spreadsheets for timekeeping consumed staff hours, produced inaccuracies, and risked non‑compliance with labor laws. The company also needed tighter access control to secure the plant and limit non‑shift traffic.

Working with Synerion, Broan‑NuTone implemented HandPunch biometric terminals, plant floor data stations and Synerion’s TimeZone client/server software with a Benefit Accruals module, plus access control tied to work schedules. The automated system gave managers real‑time attendance visibility, reduced paper and manual entry, improved job costing and payroll integration, and cut payroll processing time by at least 50%.
