Tropical Smoothie Cafe, founded in Destin, Florida in 1997, is a fast-growing franchised brand with 1,100+ locations and plans for 1,500 by 2025. To support that growth and serve franchisees—their primary customers—the company needed a modern back-of-house system to scale operations, improve unit-level visibility, and optimize inventory and labor across a mix of single-unit and multi-unit operators.
In 2018 Tropical Smoothie implemented SynergySuite’s full suite (inventory with live-sales theory, EDI ordering, labor/scheduling with sales forecasts, reporting, checklists and label printing), replacing manual spreadsheets. Early adopters reported improved food cost percentages, as much as a 2–2.5% reduction in food waste, large time and cost savings, and better unit-level economics and reporting that enable faster, targeted coaching and stronger franchise profitability.
