Quanex uses Adept Engineering Document Management to Achieve Lean Manufacturing Processes

Quanex Building Products, a manufacturer of door and window components, faced uncontrolled engineering and quality documentation—over 6,500 Windows folders, CAD files moved manually between “controlled” folders, lost or wrong revisions during ISO audits, and slow ECO/ECR processes. To address these challenges they engaged Synergis Software and evaluated/selected its Adept engineering document management solution.

Synergis Software implemented Adept, provided on-site administrator and user training, migrated the company’s entire PDF and CAD vaults, and configured workflows and secure vaults for departments; 43 users were trained and rollouts to additional sites began. Adept eliminated hand‑carry paper processes, ensured correct revisions for ISO audits, preserved pre‑Adept history, sped ECO/ECR change delivery to the shop floor, and delivered measurable productivity gains across engineering, QA, and other departments.
