Mosaic’s Mine Sites Dig Into Benefits of Adept Document Management

Mosaic Company’s Esterhazy potash mining operation faced a growing challenge to manage, track and share a rapidly increasing volume of engineering drawings and documents across the plant lifecycle. Their legacy document-management system no longer supported current Autodesk CAD tools and they required native-file support (no encryption), secure searchable access, and stronger revision control. They selected Synergis Software’s Adept document management to address these needs.

Synergis Software implemented Adept (installed on a MySQL server) in a one-week engagement, designing the database and Library Card metadata and training users; Pushka called the implementation “very stress free.” Today Mosaic Company runs 20 concurrent Adept licenses with 14 CAD designers and about 100 viewers, and has scanned roughly 95% of its engineering drawings (about 62,000 files) into the centralized repository. Adept’s sign‑in/sign‑out, revision tracking and access controls eliminated simultaneous edits, gave instant controlled access to drawings for engineering, maintenance, purchasing and construction, and reduced time and printing costs while improving collaboration and document traceability.
