A Synergis Software Case Study
GILLIG, a long‑established heavy‑duty transit bus manufacturer producing about 25 buses a week, needed a stable, scalable document management system after Autodesk discontinued WorkCenter. The company required a solution that would manage complex multi‑CAD designs, move to 3D workflows, streamline engineering approvals and improve the shop‑floor interface to support increased production and business efficiency. Synergis Software’s Adept was chosen to replace WorkCenter and meet those needs.
Synergis Software implemented Adept with tight integration to AutoCAD, Inventor and SolidWorks, created Library Cards and formalized workflows (Inbox) and delivered custom extensions (automated part numbering, Sign‑In Recorder) to connect Adept to other systems; 60 licenses were deployed and the WorkCenter data migration went live after one weekend. The result: engineering reviews and concurrent work accelerated, the print room was virtually eliminated, shop‑floor and sales staff gained instant access to current drawings, and Gillig reports faster time‑to‑market, reduced rework and scrap costs, and significant productivity and administrative savings.
