Ferrotec Increases Productivity by 75 Percent with Adept Document Management Software

Ferrotec, a global manufacturer of vacuum feedthroughs, magnetic liquid and thermoelectric products, faced paper-dependent engineering workflows and the challenge of providing engineering documentation to newly acquired and remote manufacturing facilities. To modernize CAD and document control, Ferrotec selected Synergis Software’s Adept document management system (30 licenses) to replace microfilm, manual drawing approvals and fragmented file structures.

Synergis Software implemented Adept—including a custom Next Number Generator app—and rolled it out in four phases with minimal (one-day) training, enabling global access, forced workflows and Inventor integration. The deployment reduced time spent on document-related tasks from about 160 hours per week to 40 hours (a 75% savings), reclaimed office space, sped design-to-manufacturing handoffs, and achieved 100% user acceptance.
