QinetiQ North America’s Technology Solutions Group (formerly Foster‑Miller) faced complex, multi‑year engineering programs such as EMALS and AAG that required tight control of thousands of CAD files, faster review/approval cycles, lower costs and better traceability. To address these challenges QinetiQ North America deployed Synergis Software’s Adept engineering document management to secure CAD data and support process improvement across design, manufacturing and change control.

Synergis Software implemented automated Adept workflows — including an Adept task screen, library‑card signature approvals, electronic review processes, ECR data capture and a paperless manufacturing rollout on a 15,000‑sq‑ft shop floor — putting Adept at every workstation. The system now manages almost 17,000 discrete CAD files for the EMALS program, dramatically reduced outstanding signature and approval times, essentially eliminated paper‑related errors, enabled self‑service reporting without IT, and helped QinetiQ North America achieve key quality and CMMI certification goals.
