University Hospital Zurich unifies 300+ image sources with synedra IT
The University Hospital Zurich (USZ), a major public hospital and leading medical faculty in Switzerland, faced a significant data management challenge. With 37 disparate departmental image databases, accessing and managing medical imaging and multimedia content was inefficient. To address this, USZ partnered with synedra IT to implement its synedra AIM Health Content Management Platform and the integrated synedra View Professional diagnostic viewer, aiming to create a central, format-independent archive for both clinical and research use.
synedra IT implemented its synedra AIM platform to replace the numerous legacy systems, consolidating over 300 image and video sources into a single vendor-neutral archive. The solution included integrated viewing, video management, scanning, and connections to over 800 devices and various hospital IT systems. This resulted in a centralized repository for the entire hospital, handling a massive data influx of 14 terabytes per month and providing efficient tools for clinical diagnosis, research, and teaching.
