University of California, Irvine partnered with Syndio to strengthen pay equity across its non-unionized staff after finding its earlier efforts were siloed by department and hard to scale. UCI needed a consistent, data-backed way to analyze compensation, communicate findings clearly, and build a more holistic pay equity function as part of its total rewards strategy, using Syndio’s Pay Equity Platform, PayEQ™, and expert advisors.
Syndio helped UCI run regression analyses across gender, race, and intersectional groups covering 4,368 employees in 29 divisions, making remediation faster and easier to explain to stakeholders. The program supported UCI’s Fair Pay Workplace certification, improved transparency and trust, boosted its employer brand, and is expected to reduce pay disparities and lower annual remediation over time.
