Orbital ATK’s Aerospace Structures Division needed to equip a new facility for demand-driven manufacturing to support growing commercial aircraft business, while also preparing for a shift to a high-volume, high-mix model. The company faced the prospect of managing more than 300,000 supply chain transactions per month and wanted a scalable way to reduce costs, improve visibility, and support future growth.

Synchrono implemented its Demand-Driven Manufacturing Platform, including SyncManufacturing, SyncAlert, SyncOperations, and SyncView, to connect people, machines, and data in real time. The solution improved scheduling, reduced downtime and unplanned work stoppages, lowered inventory buffers, and helped avoid millions in added costs; the project was completed in thirteen months and ultimately supported multi-million dollar contracts with Boeing and Airbus.
