Preparing the Next Generation of Barristers and Solicitors, With the University of Law

The University of Law, the UK’s largest private university (10,000+ students), needed to adapt to changes in core legal exams (LPC/BPTC) that now emphasize situational judgement and multiple‑choice questions, while meeting rising student expectations for engaging digital learning. They engaged Synap to deliver a modern online learning platform and question‑bank solution to better prepare students and increase study engagement.

Synap implemented bulk‑uploadable question banks (with images and formatting), single sign‑on integration with the university LMS, mobile iOS/Android apps for personalised spaced‑learning quizzes, and ran a pilot to refine features with students. The result is an easy‑to‑manage system students enjoy using, measurable increases in engagement (heavy weekend usage and students following personalised recommendations), actionable revision analytics for staff, and Synap being named the University’s exclusive partner for SQE1 assessment and the new BPC programme.
