Houston Methodist Uses symplr Assessment to Hire for Cultural Fit and Reduce Turnover

Houston Methodist, a large Houston-area health system with eight hospitals and more than 22,000 employees, was struggling to preserve its strong culture as it grew. Rising turnover and declining engagement scores made it harder to maintain the organization’s values and hire candidates who fit its patient-focused, caring environment. To address this challenge, Houston Methodist turned to Symplr and its behavioral assessment solution, symplr Assessments.

Symplr helped Houston Methodist launch its Hire4Fit program, adding online behavioral assessments and interview guides to the hiring process for non-leadership roles. The solution improved hiring consistency and candidate screening, with 90% of candidates completing an assessment. Houston Methodist also saw a 43.8% improvement in RN turnover, a 16.4% improvement in overall turnover, and engagement rise from the 88th percentile to the 95th percentile.
